A gorgeous Pit Bull available for rescue at Huntsville Animal Services

Last night, I was chatting back and forth with one of the many great friends I have made after becoming involved in animal rescue when it dawned on me the similarities I possess to one of the most debatable dog breeds to date; the pit bull.  That’s right, I said it….PIT BULL.  So many people get upset when you discuss this breed.  It really is a shame because all it boils down to is a lack of knowledge and understanding.  That is exactly how I feel; misunderstood. Boredom sometimes overtakes people and makes them do stupid things. Then again, sometimes it’s just the stupid that makes them be stupid. So, being bored, I’ve put together a list of things that make we wanna look at someone and say, “Are you serious?”. Did you just do that? Things that make me wanna grab someone and slap them around a bit while screaming and telling them how stupid they are. Some of these I’ve found around the internet and had to share, however most are from my experiences, unfortunately. I hope you enjoy, and by all means if there is something that makes you just flip out, please add it to the list.

Are you serious? Did you just really do that?

Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen has done it again. He has flipped out and gone crazy, again. His last rant to the media is about numerous things. Like why Asian players get a translator but Latin players don’t, why Latin America players are considered too old to sign if they are over 17 years old (load of bull) but U.S. kids are signed after their twenties when they get out of college, and how MLB doesn’t care about Latinos using steroids and does nothing to educate them from using.

Antoine Dodson. Antoine the hero. A name to remember. Someone you should be paying homage to. Don’t cross Antoine. Antoine does the impossible. Antoine goes viral. These are just a few of the about 1,480,000 titles you will have pop up on your screen in a result of searching for “Antoine Dodson” on Google. Unless you have been living under a rock, or just got your internet hooked up today and haven’t signed up for Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Yahoo, or any other Social Media, you know who Antoine Dodson is. You especially know who he is if you are from the North Alabama area, thanks to our wonderful local news. (more…)

There is a phenomenon that has been sweeping the nation in growing numbers during recent years. Take a stroll down the aisles of your local grocery store and you will see the ever expanding market of energy drinks. From the drink aisle to the checkout counter, extensive marketing campaigns allow these companies to make sure you know about their products in hopes of you filling your cart with their products. But it may be more than the cart you are filling. In addition to filling corporate America’s wallet with more padding, you could also be filling your body with an overload of nutrients and other ingredients that can put unnecessary strain on your body’s cardiovascular system and other functions. So how many times has your favorite team won a championship? The most recent that I remember is this past college football season where the Alabama Crimson Tide won the National Championship (Roll Tide!). Now when the final seconds ticked off the clock, when the game clock showed nothing but zeroes, when the players were celebrating, trying on their new shirts and hats, I can honestly say that the first thing I did not think about was, “Hey, lets go burn something”. “Lets go flip a car over and catch it on fire” did not come out of my mouth. It never crossed my mind. So WHY does it happen all the time!? Someone out there has to know the answer. Why is it that when a team wins a championship riots break out and people start destroying everything in sight. Isn’t this supposed to be a happy time? I know I was happy when my beloved Crimson Tide won the Championship, but “so happy” to destroy and burn everything in sight? Nope. That’s not how I roll I guess. I guess I enjoy the simple things in life. Like being happy after a victory. Maybe I’m just weird.

After reading Adam’s latest blog entry, it inspired me to write a quick post about something that ticks me off.  So keeping with the true spirit of Road Rage with A&A, here goes…. (more…)

A True Bit of Road Rage

So I’ve been trying this new thing out. Instead of getting mad at someone and screaming at the top of my lungs while riding down the road in my confined vehicle where obviously no one can hear me, I’ve decided to write about these encounters to try and clear the mind from thinking of bad things to do to these people. Hence the making of “Road Rage with A & A”. Anyhow, instead of picturing myself ramming someone’s bumper, side swiping them while driving over a mountain and watching them tumble down the rocks, or clipping them while spinning them sideways and ramming them in the side over and over and over, I figured that it would be much safer to share my experience with you all. It’s safer for everyone on the road, and I get to vent a little.

How many times have you said that in the past week? I usually lose count and sometimes figure it out if I hear it ringing. But oh crap, I think I left it on silent. Uh oh, what if the battery is dead? Oh no, I think I may have left it at work. Wait, wait, there it is…..right where I left it on my desk next to my computer. When thinking back, it simply amazes me how we as a society have come to rely on technology so much that it simply consumes our lives. (more…)

The other day, I discussed my take on alternative medicines. In this day and time, we are always looking for the miracle cure and we want results now! I found this out first hand this week when I started visiting a local chiropractor. (more…)
