Ozzie Guillen: No Respect!

Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen has done it again. He has flipped out and gone crazy, again. His last rant to the media is about numerous things. Like why Asian players get a translator but Latin players don’t, why Latin America players are considered too old to sign if they are over 17 years old (load of bull) but U.S. kids are signed after their twenties when they get out of college, and how MLB doesn’t care about Latinos using steroids and does nothing to educate them from using.

Ozzie, first of all let me hit on this little rant of yours on the age difference. Latinos won’t get signed if they are older than 16 or 17 years old? So that means that there probably aren’t really that many Latinos in baseball right? Dearest Ozzie, let’s look at this real quickly. Let’s take your home, Venezuela. Just a few players from there are Bobby Abreu, Miguel Cabrera, Melvin Mora, Francisco Rodriguez, and Johan Santana. That is just a few. Currently in the MLB from Venezuela? 46. A few from Cuba are Livan Hernandez, Jose Canseco, Tony Perez, and Tony Olivia. But we can’t forget the Dominican Republic can we? We have Moises Alou, Luis Castillo, Vladimir Guerrero, Pedro Martinez, David Ortiz, Albert Pujols, Aramis Ramirez, Manny Ramirez, Alex Rodriguez, Alfonso Soriana, Sammy Sosa, Angel Berroa, Rafael Furcal, and Miguel Tejada. We could stop here. But why? We still have Puerto Rico. Roberto Clemente, Benito Santiago, Sandy Alomar Jr, Juan Gonzalez, Ivan Rodriguez, Carlos Beltran, and Felipe Lopez. Oh ya, and I think Mariano Rivera is from Panama. So here we have just a hand full of players. Where did they go to college? If any of these players had gone to college. Surely they would have been grabbed up just as quickly, if not quicker, than the U.S. players right out of college. The Nationals pitching sensation Stephen Strasburg, fresh from college ball, would have taken a back seat to many of these players. So Ozzie, before you go whining about how old someone is when they start playing ball, maybe you should try to help these younger kids go to school. You are already helping them to stay off steroids right? So you already have contact.

Speaking of helping them stay off of steroids. You say you are the only person helping them right? That MLB doesn’t care. They just care about how many times you argue with an umpire? Really? Are you serious? You are the only one helping them? Come on Ozzie? Ozzie was quoted saying, “If you tell me, you take this…you’re going to be like Vladimir Guerrero, you’re going to be like Miguel Cabrera, you’re going to be this guy…I’ll do it. Because I have seven brothers that sleep in the same room. I have to take care of my mother, my dad. …Out of this I’m going to make money to make them better.” Really dude? So Latin players are the only ones tempted with this stuff, and they are the only ones going through hard times? I’m tempted to go rob a bank so I can pay my bills, why don’t you come talk me out of it, amigo. Ozzie you are making a fool of yourself.

Since I spoke some Spanish there (amigo), you may not understand me. Amigo means friend in Spanish. But you would have known that too if you had a translator. I bet you know what “nakigoe osanago” means. Yep, that is “cry baby” in Japanese. Everyone in baseball knows that, because according to Ozzie all Asian players get a translator but none of the Latin players do. He made references of certain players translating for other players and was mad because there was no translator. Um. Did I miss something? This guy is TRANSLATING for this other guy, because there is no translator. Horrible that a player has to translate for another player. I’m sure that the Asian players won’t need a translator either here in a few years. I personally think there should be no translators. You want to play ball in America? LEARN ENGLISH. Ozzie you too.

So Ozzie, didn’t you just flip out on Joe West for causing a scene? You said people don’t pay to come watch the umpires and managers. You are right. No one cares for the most part, and no one really cares about your cry baby mess that you have caused again. You are not the only person to help Latino players stay off steroids. Don’t cry about translators, learn English! And the age thing, GROW UP!

Sheesh man, go manage your ball club and shut up!
